For The Fallen Dreams release video for new single 'No Heaven'

Metal quintet For The Fallen Dreams have released a video for their new single 'No Heaven', out now via Arising Empire.

Check out the video for 'No Heaven' here: https://youtu.be/O1Wi-LbGwIY

Stream/purchase 'No Heaven' here: https://arisingempire.com/noheaven

Vocalist Chad Ruhlig comments: "No Heaven is one of the first tracks that came to the table for the new material. Experimenting with something this outside of the box for us so early on in the writing process kept us motivated to stay the course. To have this one out into the world is a great feeling. We hope you all enjoy listening to it as much we did creating it."

'No Heaven' was produced by Jonathan Dolese at Konkrete Studios (Cane Hill), with vocal production duties by Daniel "DL" Laskiewicz (All That Remains, Bad Wolves).

What’s that old saying? “The more things change, the more they stay the same.” When it comes to Michigan-based metal outfit For The Fallen Dreams, perhaps a more fitting - but just as timeless - adage would be “change is the only constant.”

For The Fallen Dreams' career is defined by constant progression and a dedication to refining and rejuvenating their unique brand of aggressive, passionate metal. The five-piece have consistently demonstrated an ability to adapt and evolve their sound and dynamic, despite overwhelming adversity, all without sacrificing the core components of their sound.

Built around explosive breakdowns, gut-wrenching grooves and lyricism that touches on everything from an introspective glimpse into the human condition to brotherhood and camaraderie, these Midwestern masters of metal have made themselves a staple within the international heavy music community.

For The Fallen Dreams formed in 2003, but their story starts in earnest with the release of 2008's Changes - a record that would greatly impact the footprint of heavy music. Following Changes, For The Fallen Dreams went on to release five more remarkable full-length records, from the atmospheric and moody Relentless to chart-topping comeback record Heavy Hearts, which landed at #162 on the Billboard Top 200 and #3 on Billboard Heatseekers lists. Six saw the band venture into more metallic territory, with over 20 million views on YouTube and tens of millions of streams across various streaming platforms.

While For The Fallen Dreams have been through their fair share of changes, one thing has remained constant: their dedication to growth while never failing to deliver primal-yet-emotional music, which has made them a staple in modern metal.

UK black metallers Abduction release haunting new single 'In Exaltation Of The Supreme Being'

Black metallers Abduction have released a haunting new single 'In Exaltation Of The Supreme Being', taken from their new album Black Blood, out now via Candlelight Records.

View the visualiser for 'In Exaltation Of The Supreme Being' here: https://youtu.be/FAF6_p2KAtU
Order the album here: https://Abduction.lnk.to/BlackBloodPR

Abduction state: "In Exaltation of the Supreme Being' is a signpost to the death of the ego and the ascension of the true spiritual self, beyond the confines of the 5 senses and the relentless slog of the dopamine/cortisol cycle.

“The world is a cold and terrible place for most people in it, most of the time. Dismal, and suffocated by chancers for profit or by a calculated dismantling of our inner being. It seems you are a product, or you are an inadvertent customer. There is no other choice.

“'The very air you breathe has a price'

“Death is the only solution."

Formed in 2016 as a shadowy single-man entity, Abduction have made astonishingly fast progress, carving a fearsome reputation for themselves as a standout act in an increasingly crowded extreme metal scene.

Performing alone in the early years – a rare sight, despite the many one-man bands in the genre – Abduction’s central protagonist A|V then expanded the band into a full live outfit, to better create intense, ritualistic and immersive performances, both at underground shows and larger festivals.

The forthcoming release of Black Blood sees Abduction’s most ambitious and rewarding album to date. Recorded – like its predecessor, 2019’s All Pain As Penance – by Ian Boult at Stuck on a Name Studios in Nottingham, this nightmarish yet entrancing listen pushes Abduction into new territories without straying from their core sound. From the hypnotically earnest and haunting ‘In Exaltation of the Supreme Being’, to the expansive 11-minute epic ‘Plutonian Gate’, with its marked progressive and psychedelic overtones, to the blend of uncompromising, stripped-down black metal and slower, almost post-metal textures of ‘A Psylacybic Death’, it is an intense and dynamic experience.

Black Blood draws both from the band’s roots and new inspirations. The fact that members of British black metal bands The Sun’s Journey Through the Night and Revenant Marquis appear is a welcome nod to where Abduction come from, yet the fact that the band are atypical for a UKBM act – no rousing odes to England or 90s Scandinavian formulas here – is perhaps their most precious attribute. Their distinctive qualities have also earnt them a place on the roster of one of extreme metal’s most famous labels, Candlelight Records, a definite milestone.

Before this album was recorded, I knew I wanted to step things up a few notches in terms of taking this vision to a wider audience,” A|V states.Candlelight approached me – indirectly, as they didn’t know who I was behind the mask – and offered a deal that more than meets where I want to take this project. Rather than continue to exist in the well-established sphere I’ve grown comfortable in, I decided that now is the time to take a leap into the unknown. Much like the narratives of the songs, there is both trepidation and elation. Time will be the judge…”

Glasgow alt-rockers Anchor Lane tackle social pressures and anxieties with new single and video 'Stutter'

Glasgow-based alt-rock trio Anchor Lane have shared their single 'Stutter'; an explosive, riff-driven rock anthem that sees the band tackle the topics of social status and peer pressure, from early school years all the way though to adulthood. The single is the first glimpse of their upcoming album, Call This a Reality?, due for release 27th January.

Stream 'Stutter' here: https://slinky.to/stutteral

Watch the video here: https://youtu.be/U5YOQGfiq4c

Anchor Lane comment: "‘Stutter’ is about the pressure and expectation built by your peers firstly through school, and then through social media in subsequent years. Looking up old flames, old best mates, trying to size up who "won". 'Stutter' is to do with pressure, and the reminder to keep it in check."

Anchor Lane's upcoming sophomore album Call This A Reality? was produced by Bruce Rintoul (Twin Atlantic, Fatherson, Vukovi). It follows their 2020 debut album Casino, which went straight to number nine on the Official UK Rock Album Chart, as well as getting the band important support from the likes of NME, BBC Radio Scotland and Planet Rock. THECITYISOURS release new single/video 'Alive'

'Alive' out now via Arising Empire

“ ...metalcore at its most infectious” Rock Sound

THECITYISOURS have released their brand new single / video ‘Alive’, directed by the band's very own Oli Duncanson, out now worldwide via Arising Empire.

'Alive' is a massive EFX experience in a nostalgic retro gaming environment, which you can now watch here: https://youtu.be/Kxmk_v8F5Z8

Stream: https://arisingempire.com/alive

The band comment: "‘Alive’ is about acknowledging the demons we have experienced in our lives and actively changing our mindset to banish them to the past and move forward with a fresh outlook on life. As a band, we have experienced so much change in recent years that it has sometimes been difficult to remain focused on the path ahead.

‘Alive’ was an opportunity to throw the rule book out of the window and re-define what it was that we loved about making music and creative content as a band. We talked a lot about what made us fall in love with music in the first place and discussed records that made us feel something; anything from punishing metal records to 90’s pop classic and everything in between. We set ourselves the challenge of trying to combine elements from as many of these as possible into one track, to set ourselves free from the restrictions of our past and fully embrace the new era of
THECITYISOURS. We fully believe that everyone should be able to express themselves in whichever way they wish, regardless of race, gender, creed, sexuality, or any other labels society may try to place on us as.

This song has enabled us to find our true selves. ‘Alive
is an anthem of celebration, that you are perfect just as you are. ‘Aliveis the re-birth of THECITYISOURS."

THECITYISOURS is a 5-piece pop metal band from London who has quickly garnered attention and growing support for peers, industry and fans alike, with their high-octane live show and the success of their second album. Coma (2021) smashed into the top 5 iTunes metal charts with several singles appearing in editorial playlists with the likes of Amazon, Deezer and Spotify (Including 2 covers on New Core and Metal UK) supporting the band.

THECITYISOURS have become a upcoming staple on UK & EU festival line ups alike, with appearances at Camden Rocks, Macmillan Fest, Burn It Down, Holloween, a fly in appearance at High 5 Festival in Sweden, a headline set in the Doghouse Tent at the revered Download Festival to a 4000+ audience of festival-goers. After a sold-out album release show at The Underworld in London, 2022 has seen THECITYISOURS break out into the European scene, with a full length tour across the mainland throughout October. New UK progressive hardcore/thrash group Skin Failure (ex-Black Peaks) release new single 'Sleeveless Jesus / The Void'

New progressive thrash/hardcore group Skin Failure have revealed their new single, 'Sleeveless Jesus/The Void', the second glimpse of their out-of-this-world debut album Radillac, which will be released 11th November via Small Pond.

Skin Failure will be touring with labelmates InTechnicolour in November. Dates as follows:

Nov-13 Bristol, Crofters
Nov-24 London, Camden Assembly
Nov-25 Milton Keynes, Craufurd Arms

A concept album, Radillac tells the story of an interdimensional 'Jesus', flung into an amphetamine-powered wormhole and travelling through time and space. 'Sleeveless Jesus/The Void', track two from the record, describes our protagonist first entering this wormhole and left drifting in space, questioning his existence beyond the void.

Not, then, your everyday album. A full-throttle, high-psychedelia record, Radillac is the sound of a band having as much fun as is inhumanly possible. Elements as disparate as Every Time I Die, Mastodon, and Slayer clash and combine to thrilling effect, with a bonus guest feature from UK comedy legend Ed Gamble on track four's 'Remy LeBeau's Big Pile of Bones'.

Forming in 2021 after a few years of riff-gathering, Skin Failure's thrilling debut is testament to the limitless talent of the group: Will Gardner (vocals), Paul Stallan (guitar), Toby Stewart (guitar), Dave Larkin (bass), and Sam Simpson (drums). Skin Failure will make their live debut at ArcTanGent 2022.

US deathcore group Bodysnatcher stream new video 'Value Through Suffering'

Hotly-tipped US deathcore group Bodysnatcher have released their video for 'Value Through Suffering'.

The crushing hymn comes by way of Bodysnatcher's Bleed-Abide LP, released April 2022 via MNRK Heavy.

Comments drummer Chris Whited of the rousing song, "‘Value Through Suffering’ was written as a message to myself to not let the struggles in life bring you down, but rather allow them to build you into a better, stronger version of yourself. So really sit down and feel the horrible things you have been through and appreciate the person you are today.”

Watch Bodysnatcher’s previously released videos for 'Wired For Destruction', 'Absolved Of The Strings And Stone', “'E.D.A.', and 'Behind The Crowd' at the band’s official YouTube page HERE.

An epically unashamed demonstration of aggression, Bodysnatcher's music is dark, furious, and threatening. It’s a sound born from the burden of struggle and an unwavering commitment to continued survival against all obstacles.

Bodysnatcher put the 'core' back in deathcore. Bleed-Abide, the Florida band's third album, crackles with rage and power.  Unquestionably their darkest offering to date, Bleed-Abide burns with an intensity derived from a further focus on sonic pummeling and truth-telling narratives.

Bodysnatcher will support Hatebreed on their 20 Years Of Perseverance US tour. The journey, from late October through to late November, includes additional support from Gatecreeper and Dying Wish as well as Bleeding Through and Obituary on select dates.

About Bodysnatcher:

Kyle Medina (vocals), Kyle Carter (guitar), Kyle Shope (bass), and Chris Whited (drums) embody the hardcore spirit and cut their teeth in their tight-knit Florida community, home of death metal and pioneering punk, hardcore, and power-violence bands. Bodysnatcher are monikered after the nickname of one of history’s most notorious serial killers, Ed Gein, and represented by a triangular symbol steeped in alchemy and the occult. But Bodysnatcher lyrics owe more to the horrors of domestic strife than the gore of their Florida-based forebearers in Cannibal Corpse.

The inception point came with the purest of intentions. “I was around seventeen,” Medina explains. “We were just going to be a band that was basically a ‘breakdown band’ for my friends to mosh to.” Eventually stabilisng with a line-up that overlapped at various points with beloved groups like King Conquer and Dealey Plaza, Bodysnatcher released a quick succession of albums and EPs, most notably Abandonment (2015), Death Of Me (2017), and the utterly crushing This Heavy Void (2020). Combined with a blistering live show, this led to a deal with the MNRK Heavy label.

Bleed-Abide is the darkest offering yet from Bodysnatcher, burning with an intensity derived from a further focus on sonic pummeling and truth-telling narratives. “Even as a pissed-off teenager, the first songs I wrote were about personal experiences and people who did me wrong,” Medina says. “The musicianship is more mature; there are still a lot of breakdowns but done in a much smarter way. It’s definitely still Bodysnatcher. It’s like Bodysnatcher on steroids.”

All of the guys contribute to the lyrics, resulting in multiple points of view and diverse insights anchored by common themes of catharsis and resistance. 'Absolved Of The Strings And Stone' is a battle cry against the gaslighting and emotional abuse of toxic people. 'Hollow Shell' delves into strained familial dynamics, where some family members live as virtual prisoners to others. 'Wired For Destruction' confronts death anxiety. “It’s about the fear of the unknown, how all of us will move on,” says Medina. “Are we just going to return to dust? Are we just forgotten?” Even amidst the uncertainty and darkness, there’s an underlying positivity to be mined within. 'Value Through Suffering' takes a proactive stance on hardship, a way to rebuild from the wreckage. Too many bands resist genre classification in an aloof effort to distinguish themselves from every other band, inadvertently consigning themselves to talking points that sound like everyone else. Bodysnatcher is, without apology, a deathcore band. There is no compromise in the cards. “Deathcore kicks ass. A lot of bands shy away from labels they don’t deem ‘cool’ enough. But we don’t give a f*ck,” Medina says proudly. “We like what we like, and we play what we play. We all love hardcore and metal, so we’re going to play hardcore, play metal, and play breakdowns. And that’s how the band is going to be, forever.”

Watch the video to 'Half Me' here: https://youtu.be/LSOGsadBt3g

Stream here: https://arisingempire.com/halfme

The band comment "We are incredibly proud to share our new single 'Half Me'. This very personal song portrays our most quiet moments to date. It paints the protagonist's final descent into madness and the ultimate manifestation of another persona within their own self. 'Half Me' is as much a total surrender as it is a bonding ritual. You are invited to find out what happens after the ”Wraith” storyline."

Watch the video to previous single 'Wraith' here: https://youtu.be/3tPGtDtItJs

In the space of just two years, the band have made an impact in the music scene by self producing their music and videos, displaying their intensive and energetic demeanour. Debuting with four singles initially, it was their their single 'Exitwound' (featuring Jack Bergin of Void of Vision) that gave the group a breakthrough and landed the band in the spotlight of Knotfest’s Countdown to Oblivion.

Musically, Half Me blend a modern rendition of metal and hardcore with highlights of 90s nu-metal. Pounding riffs and breakdowns are accompanied by brutal, yet sometimes elegant, vocals that all balance together to formulate the band’s own distinctive sound. Riding the high of their recent success, Half Me have sights set on releasing their highly anticipated debut album in 2022.

Half Me will support their label mates in The Oklahoma Kid on the Tangerine Tragic Tour across Germany this autumn alongside Liotta Seoul.

Electronic ambient duo Aiming For Enrike release new single

'Slopes' streaming now

Empty Airports LP to be released 20th January via Jansen Records

Photo credits: Photo: Veronica Van Groningen / Edits: Thor Merlin

Maverick ambient electro duo Aiming For Enrike have released their otherworldly new single 'Slopes', from forthcoming new album Empty Airports, which will be released 20th January via Jansen Records.

Stream the single and pre-order the album here: https://orcd.co/afe-slopes

Guitarist Simen Følstad Nilsen says this about 'Slopes': "This track showcases the more melancholic side of the album with a Burial-inspired vibe combined with shoegaze synth sounds, glitchy drum machines and guitars drenched in reverb."

It’s safe to say that Aiming For Enrike’s fame has come mostly thanks to their frenetic, wild and engaging live shows – having toured extensively in USA, India, Japan, Czech Republic, Norway, England and Germany for several years. Recently the duo have performed at the UK's esteemed ArcTanGent Festival, released an acclaimed Audiotree session, and toured with modern prog titans Leprous.

Previously known for noisy musical transformations and frenetic sonic attacks, Empty Airports marks a significant tonal shift for Aiming For Enrike. More electronic, more atmospheric and massive, the new album delves more deeply in the world of ambient than ever before.

A reflection and recognition of the stillness of COVID-life, Empty Airports was recorded during the strange, silent lockdown months of 2020 and 2021. The most spacious of Aiming For Enrike's work so far released, Empty Airports is also the duo's longest record, and their first double album.

Taking influence variously from the likes of Nils Frahm, Burial, Jon Hopkins, Sunn O))), Empty Airports' title touches on the stopped nature of the COVID world, a sense of the post-apocalyptic, and is a tip of the hat to Brian Eno's Music for Airports record.

Another stellar release in the canon of an already well-regarded forward-thinking group, Empty Airports proves beyond doubt that Aiming For Enrike live entirely in their own universe.
