British noise merchants Muscle Vest release chaotic new single 'Glue Trap'
London noise-punks Muscle Vest have shared a music video for brand new single 'Glue Trap'. Recorded and mixed by the band's own Charlie Webb (guitar) and mastered by Alan Douches (Converge, Mastodon, The Dillinger Escape Plan), the one-minute and nine-second pandemonium of a track is "An autobiographical spurt of hardcore laying bare one of many perils of renting in the UK", according to vocalist Dave Rogers.

'Glue Trap' is the final piece of a disordered puzzle: Threeeps, the band's debut vinyl release, is due out on 24th November via Prank Monkey Records. As the name indicates, the record is a compilation of Muscle Vest's three EPs released to date, with two additional tracks - 'Glue Trap' and 'God Doesn't Love You'.
On 'Glue Trap', the band comment: "The song was inspired by an event unfortunately experienced by our singer, Dave Rogers. The horrifying discovery of a glue trap set by a previous tenant and left unattended under a kitchen cabinet perfectly summarises the experience of renting in the UK. And as with most summaries, it’s quick. It’s just under 1:10 of thrashing hardcore and duelling feedback that batters the senses and leaves them wanting more."
Formed in late 2018, London noise-punks Muscle Vest carve songs out of chaos. Crawling out from the filth is hard hitting, heavy music about the strain of living through a time where everything seems to get worse every year for everyone. They have released three EPs: Human Resources, Live Laugh Loathe and Hot Hot Hate, as well as a split single with Struggles With Syntax titled 'God Doesn’t Love You'.
Muscle Vest are known for their blistering, unpredictable live show. This has been honed from years of playing in London, around Southern UK, and from various jaunts around the country (such as the Hot Hot Hate tour which saw them play 10 dates between Bristol and Edinburgh). In August 2023 the band made their international debut in front of a packed house at Supersonic in Paris.
The band’s newest track 'Glue Trap', recorded and mixed by the band’s own Charlie Webb (guitar) and mastered by Alan Douches (Converge, Mastodon, The Dillinger Escape Plan), marks a new era in the band’s development where they have taken production in-house.
Debut vinyl release Threeeps, a compilation of the band's work to date, will be released on 24th November.
