Vocalist Tobie Anderson comments on the single: "'Turn It Loose' was one of the first songs we wrote for this batch of tunes that eventually ended up turning into Midnight Heavyweight. It used to be that we lived all over the UK as a band: me up north, Dave in the West Country, and Vlad and Sam based down in Brighton. This meant we wrote the vast majority of debut album Big Sleeper using cracked copies of Logic and barely working audio interfaces. In 2018 I moved down to Brighton, so this was one of the first stabs we had at writing like a 'normal' band, all our feet stinking up the same room etc! (Little did we know what 'normal' was about to become in 2020 with the pandemic). Although Sam had been a part of InTechnicolour for a while at that point, he hadn't written with us three yet. So as well as this being a little odd looking at each other's faces whilst trying stuff out, we also had a new face in the room to stare at."

On the song's content, Tobie continues: "The lyrics on 'Turn It Loose' speak about the turbulence of life. It's about feeling like you're trapped in a situation but instead of asking for help you double down and dig in for the long haul. It's about a feeling of helplessness, but at the same time being self-aware enough to be able to see just how helpless you are. It's about that weird internal struggle those who have had depressive periods in their lives will know about, you know you need help, you know you should ask for it, but you also kind of don't want to get help because the sadness feels safe...?! Like a weird dark blanket you can pull over your head, it's too heavy and it's itchy and stifling, but it's also familiar. It's weirdly comfortable."

Hailing from Brighton, InTechnicolour are a riffy, groovy, rock band with a knack for creating a colourful song or two. Formed in 2015 through a want to play loud music through slightly broken amps, the basis of the band was created.

InTechnicolour are an inventive four-piece comprised of technically gifted musicians, cutting loose and playing music that’s about as far removed from their day jobs as it’s possible to get – and they are doing it better than a good portion of their contemporaries. Landing somewhere between the slack desert-groove of Kyuss and Karma To Burn, the band combine deeply satisfying riffs with a dynamic vocal style, which calls to mind the sounds of Baroness, Gojira and Mastodon.

InTechnicolour have previously toured across the UK and Europe with the likes of Physics House Band, Black Peaks, Town Portal, Bitch Falcon and Haggard Cat, and are gearing up to hit the road this autumn with dates to be announced very soon.
