EXPLORING BIRDSONG announce October dates: Sleep Token support and tour with Godsticks
Exciting new prog-rock/pop trio EXPLORING BIRDSONG have announced dates supporting both new sensation Sleep Token in their debut headline ritual, and a three-date tour with prog band Godsticks. The band will also be making their festival debut in the form of HRH Prog 2018.
Dates are as follows:
11/10 St Pancras Old Church London (supporting Sleep Token)
12/10 Soup Kitchen Manchester (supporting Godsticks)
13/10 Cluny 2 Newcastle (supporting Godsticks)
14/10 The Garage Attic Glasgow (supporting Godsticks)
17/11 HRH Prog Pwllheli, Wales
The news continues the trio's exciting rise, following their recent live cover of the classic '(Don't Fear) The Reaper'. Premiered via Classic Rock Magazine's Facebook, the video cover has now reached over 46,000 views. You can also watch it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=--B8yey9hSE
Riding high on the excitement generated by first video 'The Downpour', the band have also caught the attention of Prog ('an almost intangible magic'), Kerrang! Magazine and Kerrang Radio's Alex Baker, who says "it's one of those songs that finds its way into my soul every time I listen to it".
EXPLORING BIRDSONG are a unique proposition: Matt Harrison on drums, Jonny Knight on bass/second keys, often played simultaneously, and completed by Lynsey Ward's piano and stunning vocals. Pop sensibilities and soulfully gorgeous singing meet progressive compositions, reminiscent of Iamthemorning, Steven Wilson, Kate Bush and more.
